Eleven letters of the Hebrew alphabet contribute to the meaning or structuration of the other letters;
eleven do not. Eleven letters contribute thirty-four components to twenty-two letters; three of the eleven also
contribute to themselves. 22 + 34 + 3 = 59 letters in the minimally structured Hebrew alphabet, vs. 104 for the
simple full expansions of the letters with Hay singular and Aleph non-contributing and 107 when Waw, Mem and Noun are expanded.

Letters with Life in Them
|
|
Archetpal | Existential
| Sub-level
|
Ten letters of the base alphabet have either Archetypal life, Hay/5, or Existential life,
Noun/50 in them, either directly in their spellings or as a component of a component letter.
Archetypal life appears directly only in Phay-Hay. Existential life is a component of Zayn, Noun, Ayn and Sheen
and appears in every row of the seventh column (with final Noun). Aleph, Kaf, Sammekh and Qof all
contain Phay, which contains archetypal life in its unstructured depths.

The first nine plus the tenth, Yod, bring life into existence: its sign is that life is doubled, one for
the contained and one for the container. The double life is one in its roots.
|
|
Adam, the archetype of Man, is the total of the first nine letters, the seeds of the whole alphabet.

|
Ten Sefirot of Nothingness plus twenty two [foundations] letters:
Three Mothers, Seven Doubles, and Twelve Elementals.
Sepher Yetsira 1:2 (trans.,Scholem)
|
Elemental is not really the right word. Suares uses the more common "simple." "The
simple letters are simple because they cannot be double." "Elemental" steals from
the elemental nature of the three mothers, Aleph, Mem, Sheen: Air, Water, Fire.
The division of the Hebrew alphabet into three, seven and twelve letters is represented in the
figure of the Cube of Space, where
the axes are the Mothers, the faces the Doubles, and the edges the Simple letters. The
significance of the geometry is that the axes meet within us, the faces pass through our
bodies, and the edges define the boundaries of our (outer) experience.

The three Mothers: the Breath of God (Sheen) in biological resistances (Mem)
gives rise to Aleph. Sheen-Mem-Aleph is Shem-Aleph, the name Aleph.
The seven Doubles: the first three, all on the archetypal level, form the primary cell
or structure (9) for Aleph; the second three, two on the existential level and one on the cosmic,
actualize the Breath of God (Sheen, 300); the last letter, Tav, is the cosmic-level pole of resistance
to Aleph. Together, they total 709, a cell (9) for cosmic indetermination (700).
Just as Beit-Ghimel-Dalet contains the inner seed which totals 9, and with Aleph, 10,
the sequential simple letters Hay through Yod total 45, the sum of the first nine
and the sum of Adam. The first six simple letters are the signs Hay/Aries through Yod/Virgo, all below
the horizon of objective/subjective experience. The last six, Lammed/LIbra through Qof/Pisces, are the signs
of objective experience, and total 400. Together they total 445, Adam in a state
of cosmic resistance.
When you add them all together, you get 1495: cosmic Aleph (1000) -- Tav (400) -- Tsadde (90, existent
formation) -- Hay (5, archetypal life). The alphabet as a whole, the whole Aleph-Tav, is a living
structure of cosmic consciousness. 1+4+9+5=19=10=1.
A lot of coincidences there.
